Pregnancy: One Cause Of Amenorrhea

What is Amenorrhea?

Amenorrhea is the absence of the menstrual period.

We can classify amenorrhea into two types:

Primary amenorrhea: one that occurs in women who have never had their periods.

Secondary amenorrhea: one that occurs in women who have had menstrual periods but no longer have. Occurs for a time interval greater than 3 months.

Amenorrhea can have several causes:

- Pregnancy

- Use of medicines

- Some kind of disease

- stress

- Excessive sports or exercise

Important:

- If amenorrhea occurs, a doctor should be consulted to check the causes and initiate medical treatment if necessary.
